The results of procrastination

Its been too long...

Why is that the days I have the most time, I am the least productive? gah. Now, I am more stressed than I should be.

So, I should go to homework... but first I want to waste more time and post a link to an interesting article: something to think about

Ejercicio

So, as of lately, I have come to appreciate exercising (especially jogging) even more... and I came up with a list of reasons.
1. First of all, its good for you- burns calories, boosts your immune system, builds muscles (gives you really nice calves...), lowers your heart rate, etc. The list of physical benefits is endless. Research it on the internet.
2. It is a great stress reliever. It always clears my mind--forget about most of the things on my mind and just run. Additionally, it can help me sort out my thoughts. I always finish my run in a better mood and ready to face life's challenges.
3. Okay, also if I am angry, frustrated, or sad, it is a GREAT way to channel my negative energy into something positive. (Well, if I am sad it can have the adverse effect... but that is beside the point.) Like I said before, I always end in better mood.
Basically if you exercise, you look and feel better. Enough said. Exercising... DO IT!

Sleep and Babies

So, 6 hours of sleep is just not enough.
In high school I lived off of like 5 hours of sleep because of early morning seminary. Actually, quite often it was only 3 or 4 hours... like when I procrastinated projects or large homework assignments. (It didn't help that I would be on the phone with a friend, and naturally we would get sidetracked...) My parents made a rule that I had to have 6 hours of sleep at night in order to drive the next day... I couldn't drive 1/2 the time!
I can't live like that anymore! Sad... I really could use the extra hours in the day. Now, I need like 7 hours to function well, which rarely happens, especially when I have 7:30am class. dangit...

At work, I only go in and give people their lunch breaks because of my school schedule. So, I gave the infant teacher (among others) her break today ... holy cow! 4 babies (The max amt. of infants per teacher is 4) is a handful! they all need something at like the same time! They want to be held, fed, entertained, changed, etc. Naturally, at least someone is always crying. This was my first time in the infant room, and it was a handful. I think I prefer older children... even though they can choose not to listen to you. They are more entertaining and don't need quite as much attention. However... I wouldn't mind doing it again... Babies are cute :)
I better not have quadruplets when I'm a mother though...

One more note about work... I always give the kindergarten teacher a break. The two biggest troublemakers are gone! HALLELUJAH! Okay... so they can be cute but they NEVER listened. One child, Aiden, would be so apologetic and agree to make better choices, but he never stuck to his word. As soon as you turned your back he was doing something else. The other child, Cameron, was just flat out disobedient (although sometimes he could be bribed). It was twice as hard for me because I am not their normal teacher... You know what how kids sometimes treat substitutes... Plus, I am not really trained... actually I was never trained this summer when I taught the 3 year-old class either. I almost quit.. but that it another story for another day.

Mi Concerto

Okay... 2 things..
Number 1. I just had an A-MAZING choral concert! We sang at the Provo Tabernacle instead of the De Jong, and the acoustics were incredible. Rehearsals were a little on the stressful side this week because we had too much on our plate... We were memorizing until the last minute possible (at least I was). But... we all came through at the concert! (Of course, some of our hard songs still need polishing, but they were good enough and will be even better at future concerts.) Words cannot describe my emotions and feelings. There is just something extra at concerts that comes from having an audience. I always feel the Spirit so strongly. It is such an emotional experience! especially during the combined choir songs. One song called "Carol of Joy" was especially amazing (surprisingly after a scary rehearsal on Thursday). We also did a really cool group sing with the audience (its tradition) with the song "Jesus, lover of my soul" to a different melody by Joseph Parry, a Welsh composer. Sister Hall is Welsh and gave a whole story about her connections with Joseph Parry and why she chose this song. Anyways, if you are not doing anything tomorrow night I highly suggest you get tickets and go!
Obviously, I am a little high still after this concert (no... not from drugs, but i know you were thinking that).

Okay, now for numero 2. I started volunteering for an elementary school music kindergarten class (an assignment I received through one of my classes)... it was great! The kids were adorable. I am so excited to teach someday! Stuff like this really helps me keep a proper perspective, especially when things get tough (like right now... I am sick of school!). It was also a nice contrast to work... especially on days like today when the kids don't listen to a word I say... anyways, I will rant and rave on that another day.
ciao for now!
Wow... I actually wrote in this thing...

Conformity

Okay... so I joined the club. I just couldn't be left out! Now we'll see if I actually write in this thing...
